ICYMI: THE TRADE TRAVEL CHILL WEEKLY RECAP

We started the week bullish and ended it feeling a bit bored — kind of like a long-haul flight. The initial excitement fades once you realize you’re in a 4hr boardroom, and you’ve got a long way to go. But don’t worry, TTC still offered plenty of action and insights to break the monotony. Let’s dive in.

Captain’s Log ✍

I don’t want to scare you, I just want you to keep a level head, as I’ve seen what alt season does to people. I’m telling you this because it’s inevitable that some of you will lose your heads in the parabolic phase. This is my intervention before it’s needed!

Annii has been keeping it real this week, mixing optimism with a healthy dose of realism and cautionary tales. Bitcoin has never been tested in a full recession, and this is the cycle to keep our heads cool. • Sunday, Annii was tracking $BTC dominance (BTC.D) after watching a video by @intocryptoverse. Historically, BTC.D has topped out 4–6 weeks after rate cuts which is an important clue for what’s to come. More here.
• Monday, Annii noted rising $BTC price + rising OI + decreasing volume… a potential long trap?
• On Tuesday, she explained that after a peak formation, it usually doesn’t hang around for two sessions to give us time to enter, making it a “finger on the pulse” trading day. And sure enough, we got a V-bottom at the US open. ✔️
• Wednesday, Annii said not to stress about being on the sidelines or missing altcoin season. ETHBTC hasn’t even changed structure yet, and $BTC dominance (BTC.D) is still retesting above the 50 EMA. This is not the time to rush in.
• Midweek, Annii ran the 3-month liquidity heatmap over 30 alt coins 🤯 and revealed significant liquidity above price, suggesting a potential rally before a pullback.Check her full analysis, and what she’s looking for to confirm the $BTC daily W formation here.
• Don’t sleep on ETH! Annii pointed out that $ETH is in an interesting spot, and could be key to tracking altcoin market direction. Read all about it here.

Just keep in the back of your mind that in Sept 2019, last time (only time for crypto) the Fed did a cutting cycle, Alts rallied for 7 days after the first cut before rolling over and heading lower. Not saying it’s going to happen this time but it’s the only comparison crypto has.

Cajun’s hangout this week was all about the difference between 200 EMA Reversal vs. Rejection trades. The TLDR? The 200 EMA Reversal Trade happens less often, but is super reliable if identified correctly. Cajun described it as one of his favorite trades to take. Rejection trades confirm an existing trend, happen more frequently and offer multiple entries. Catch the full lesson here.

With a 200 EMA Reversal trade, the price should not come back above the 200 EMA. That’s why it can be such a rewarding trade. Once you’re in, you can set your stop just above the 200 EMA, and in principle, that trade should be safe. This is why it’s such an amazing trade if you identify it correctly — and it works across virtually any asset.
