Spilling the Tea on My Paris Adventure…

I’m just about to check out after an incredible few days in Paris, all thanks to Bitget. They invited me to vlog about the 2024 Olympic Games, so stay tuned for that on my channel. But beyond the footage, I have some exclusive insights that won’t make it into the video, and I couldn’t wait to share them with my TTC tribe!

Over the past few days, I had the unique opportunity to spend time with the CEO of Bitget and their top-tier clients. We’re talking about venture capitalists, market makers, crypto media experts, and researchers. It felt like I was the least knowledgeable person in the room, and I absolutely loved it! The insights and knowledge I gained from these interactions were the true highlights of my trip.

Here are my key takeaways:

1. Privacy in Crypto:
One major discussion point was the consensus that the mainstream adoption of crypto hinges on solving privacy issues. Currently, all transactions can be traced if someone knows your wallet address, and with some effort, even if they don’t. While transparency is great, privacy is crucial for certain scenarios. For instance, businesses need to protect their supplier details from competitors. Without the ability to mask these transactions, widespread business adoption of crypto is unlikely. Most Layer 1 blockchains, including SOL and ETH, lack this privacy focus. Therefore, the next breakthrough L1 might be the one that prioritizes privacy.

2. Future Mergers:
There’s a strong belief that we’ll see more mergers like the FET/AGIX/OCEAN consolidation. With many projects developing similar products, not all will survive. Merging allows projects to leverage each other’s strengths. This trend suggests that holding a diverse portfolio of L1s could be beneficial as mergers typically boost token market caps.

3. Solana and Future L1s:
I had a fascinating conversation with the co-founder of the Solana Foundation. While I believe Solana (SOL) will perform well in this cycle, I’m skeptical about it surpassing Ethereum (ETH) in the long run. We might not have discovered the ultimate L1 yet; it could still be under development or arise from a future merger.

4. Aptos Insights:
I also met the founder of Aptos, a former Facebook employee who worked on the Libra project. He demonstrated their wallet, Petra, which is impressively fast and cheap to use. Despite the technical jargon that went over my head, his vision and expertise were clear, making Aptos a project to watch.

5. Bullish on RWAs:
Venture capitalists are particularly bullish on real-world assets (RWAs) being a major narrative this cycle, especially within the finance sector. They see traditional finance as ripe for disruption, with crypto poised to lead the charge.

6. Not the Last Cycle:
Contrary to some narratives, this won’t be the last crypto cycle. Older, tired crypto channels might push this idea because they’re fading out. However, the industry itself has a vibrant future ahead.

7. Importance of Oracles:
Oracles are crucial for crypto, and Chainlink (LINK) is the leader in this space. Oracles allow blockchains like Ethereum to interact with external data, which is essential for the growth of DeFi and other applications.

8. MATIC’s Potential:
Despite its recent price underperformance, MATIC as a whole remains promising. It’s transitioning to POL in a mainnet upgrade this September, which could be a bullish move.

9. Market Makers’ Insights:
Market makers predict that alt season won’t commence without a Fed pivot. Historically, each Fed pivot has led to a crash followed by a bull market. Although a crash is expected in September, recovery times are shorter with each cycle. Therefore, having cash ready to buy significant dips could be a game-changer.

I’ve learned even more, but some insights are too sensitive to put in writing. Just know that my understanding of market making has reached new heights, and one day, I’ll share all this knowledge with the amazing TTC community through our educational courses.

Did you enjoy this insider scoop from my crypto adventures? Let me know in the comments if you’d like me to spill more tea from my future trips and meetings!
